Relay for Life

As many of you know, we participated in Relay for Life in New Braunfels last year. We have started a team again this year and are really looking forward to doing it again. Last year we were able to raise quite a bit of money for the event and we are hoping to do the same again. All money donated to the event goes to cancer research so it is a very worthwhile cause. The drugs that have saved Rachel are newer drugs that would not have been available to her 5 years ago. We are also going to be using a new kind of radiation that has only been available to kids for a few years. Cancer research is very important to our family because Rachel wouldn't be here without on going new treatments and ideas that were funded by organizations like the cancer society!

The event is going to be April 24th-25th so we are starting to fund raise and set-up the team. If you're interested in joining or just making a donation to the team, click on the relay picture to the right and it will take you to the website. Thanks everyone for your support.

Enjoying the Weather at the Park

Anna and I took the kids to the park because it was in the 70s the other day. They played on the swings and chased the ducks by the water. We had a hard time chasing all 3 of them because they kept going in different directions! It was a nice day and the kids had a great time.

Rach had to make sure that Callie didn't try to take her stroller. She's very attached to it!

Callie likes to poke and drum on my belly. She's pretty amused by the size of it!

Callie kept waving to everyone who passed by her swing.
Rach actually posed for the camera!

38 weeks and ready for the baby!

Michael took this picture of me last week. We had to go to the hospital to try and turn the baby because she was in a breech position at 36 weeks. They got me prepared for the procedure and then they did a sonogram that determined the baby had turned herself- thank God! :) I was not looking forward to having the doctors pushing on my stomach to try and flip the baby. I am now half way through the 38th week and so ready to not be pregnant anymore! Because the baby turned we don't need a cesarean section so now it's up to her when she wants to come out. I am due on the 20th but I'm really hoping to not make it to that date. We have been trying hard to prepare Rach for being a big sister but I don't think she'll understand until the baby's here. She still tells us that the nursery is Callie's room because she's seen Callie in the crib the most since she got her big girl bed. I asked her the other day if she was ready for her sister and she told me, "sister no" as she thought about it- the first few weeks should be interesting!

I Love Sweetie And Bear

As if it wasn't hard enough keeping track of Sweetie, Rachel also insists she bring Bear along too everywhere we go. Another accessory of hers is the comb (not pictured.) Aunt Anna had fun with Rach today and some fun with the photo editor.

Latest News

I know that it's been a while since I posted last. I did put up all of the Christmas pics and a trip we took to the zoo. Rach had a few bad days over the last couple of weeks. Probably due to a mixed up schedule and a case of the stomach flu- like she doesn't throw up enough! She's also getting her 2-yr molars. We were concerned so we did another MRI and CT scan to check her shunt. Everything is still going fine. The cancer has not changed and we just started round 9 of this chemo regimen. We only have one left after this and then we will be changing treatment around March. Rach seems to be back to normal. I guess I just panic when she is going through normal 2 year old stuff!

Nice day at the zoo

Grandma take me to the zoo!

Guess who wouldn't pose for the group pic?
